About The Owner

My name is Gina Gresch, and I'm a lifelong dog lover. My passion for dogs runs so deep that if my dog needed a kidney, I'd give it without hesitation. This unwavering devotion to dogs led me to start Happy Tails To You and Chase Place, two ventures born from a transformative period in my life.

Happy Tails To You emerged after a series of life-altering events: the loss of my parents, Gary and Carol Gresch, the passing of my beloved "foster failure" Mort, and the burnout from my long career in local government. These experiences led me to reflect on my life and realize it was time to pursue my true passion—caring for dogs.

My parents were the proud owners of Pek-In-Kennels, a dog and cat boarding kennel in the Town of Vernon, SE Waukesha County. They dedicated 19 years to their business, and my dad even wrote a book about their experiences! (If you're interested, I have a few hundred copies available for $8 each, including postage. Proceeds go to the Rescue Gang—just email me for a copy.)

My journey into public service began through a connection my dad made with the Town Clerk. During my senior year, my dad asked the Town Clerk, "Gina needs a job; what can she do at Town Hall?" That simple request launched a 23-year career that included overseeing 77 elections, five recounts, and one recall.

However, after my parents passed away within 10 months of each other and Mort crossed the Rainbow Bridge less than a year later, I realized I needed a change. The years between 2020 and 2022 were challenging, but they helped me understand that without my dad, I no longer wanted to be a municipal clerk. It was time to follow my own path and focus on what truly makes me happy.

And so, Happy Tails To You was born, inspired by my dad's favorite song, "Happy Trails" by Roy Rogers. It feels like everything has come full circle, and I'm excited to dedicate my life to caring for dogs, just as my parents did.
